France: Beer sales increase by 3.6% in 2017

During the last 37 years France’s brewing sector had been declining, but last year the nation’s beer sales saw a 3.6% increase, BFM.TV reported on February 21.

Beer consumption is also up, currently estimated at 32 litres per capita, according to Brasseurs de France data.

The trade association said France is now ranked third among European nations by the number of its breweries (Belgium is ranked fourth).
